Osteonecrosis of the Knee
Treating bone death (AVN) early.
Avascular necrosis happens when blood supply to the bone is disrupted. Early detection via MRI is key. We use core decompression and stem cells to encourage new blood vessel growth.
Symptoms
- Sudden onset of severe pain
- Pain at night
- Swelling
- Pain upon standing
Conservative treatment
- Protected weight bearing
- Bisphosphonates
- Vascular stimulation therapy
When is surgery needed?
In lesions involving articular cartilage / joint surface - core decompression with BMAC.
