Meniscus Tears & Repair
Preserving the shock absorber is our priority.
The meniscus protects your cartilage. Removing it leads to arthritis. We utilize advanced suturing techniques to repair tears that others would cut out. Degenerative tears are treated non-surgically.
Symptoms
- Joint line pain
- Locking/Catching
- Swelling after activity
- Inability to straighten leg
Conservative treatment
- Physical therapy
- Orthobiologic treatment
- Activity modification
When is surgery needed?
If conservative treatment does not bring a positive effect or in selected types of meniscus tears. We prefer arthroscopic meniscus repair. Meniscectomy is a last resort.
