MCL Repair & Injuries
Inner knee pain usually heals with bracing.
The Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) has a rich blood supply. Even high-grade tears heal exceptionally well with a hinged brace and early motion. Surgery is rarely needed unless the ligament is trapped inside the joint.
Symptoms
- Pain on inner knee
- Pain when stressed sideways
- Bruising
- Stiffness
Conservative treatment
- Hinged Knee Brace
- Early Range of Motion
- Functional rehab
- Orthobiologic treatment
When is surgery needed?
MCL repair with internal bracing or reconstruction only for chronic instability or selected types of MCL tears.
