- Does every orthopedic diagnosis end in surgery?
No. Many conditions can be treated conservatively, and some operations can be delayed for years if the true source of pain is diagnosed properly and the treatment plan is built well.
- Do I need a referral for an orthopedic appointment?
No. Dr Wasylewski sees patients privately at Wasylewski Clinic in Warsaw.
- How should I prepare for the first consultation and what should I bring?
If your documentation is extensive, please bring all discharge summaries, operative notes, and imaging studies on CD. If your imaging is older than 1-2 years, it is worth obtaining updated scans. Written radiology reports are usually not necessary because Dr Wasylewski reviews the studies personally.
- Can I send my MRI or X-rays before the appointment?
Of course. Please contact the clinic in advance and upload the studies according to the instructions on this website.
- How soon after an injury should I come for consultation?
As soon as possible.
- Are online consultations available?
Absolutely. Dr Wasylewski regularly consults patients from around the world in Polish, English, and German. After you send your imaging and medical records, the consultation can take place as a video call on WhatsApp or any other convenient communicator.
- Could the doctor quickly look at my scan and answer my question?
Dr Wasylewski reviews imaging and discusses each patient's situation only during individual consultations.
- Do you provide second opinions after failed surgery?
Yes. This is an important part of the practice. The review focuses on implants, biomechanics, the reason pain persists, what can realistically be corrected, and what the best next treatment plan looks like.
- How is carpal tunnel surgery performed at Wasylewski Clinic?
It is an ultrasound-guided microrelease under local WALANT anesthesia. The skin opening is usually 3-4 mm, there are no stitches, and functional recovery is often around 2 weeks.
- How long does recovery take after surgery or minimally invasive treatment?
This depends very much on the type of operation or procedure and is always discussed individually with the patient.
- When should someone think seriously about hip replacement?
When hip osteoarthritis causes groin pain, stiffness, and loss of everyday function despite conservative treatment. At that point, a well-executed total hip replacement can change quality of life dramatically.
